Latest PREP Updates

September 30, 2022

I would like to start off by thanking all our Prep Families, for making the first two weeks of Prep very positive for everyone involved in our Program. Please pay attention to the following information:

  • Registration for HC PREP 2022/2023 is officially now closed.
  • Drop-off and Pick-up procedures will continue as last year. The Level 6 and 7 area will be located in the North Parking Lot. The Level 5, 4, and 3 area will be in the Gymnasium. The Level 2 and 1 area will be outside the side church entrance in the South Parking Lot. Please note that students should be dropped off by 6:55pm and parents should be here no later than 8:00pm for pick-up.
  • Students should return the Parent Contact Information Form that was attached to the Student Supply List and distributed on Sept. 20. (the form is now overdue and a special thank you to those of you who returned it on Sept. 27)
  • Kindly note that this will be my regular form of communication with parents and I advise you all to read the weekly parent updates carefully. All of this information is also posted regularly on the PREP Website (ca). I strongly encourage all of you to check the HC Prep Website (hcprep.ca) on a weekly basis, to keep up with my most current program updates.
  • Holy Cross Prep will continue to follow all Health & Safety Protocols outlined & required in all Burnaby Schools by Fraser Health. (For ex: if your Child has any Cold or Flu Symptoms, please keep them home or if your Child wishes to wear a Mask, they are welcome to but not required to. We also continue to kindly ask that Parents avoid entering the School Buildings)
  • We are very happy to announce that our first two HC Prep Full School Masses will take place on Oct. 18 (prepared by Lev. 7) and Dec. 6 (prepared by Lev. 6) We are also happy to extend invitations to any Parents who wish to attend. The Masses in the Church will start at 7 pm and go to 7:50 pm.
  • Level 7 Parents and Students are also asked to mark their Calendars for our Confirmation Meeting in the Church on Oct. 25 @ 7:05 pm

 I would like to start off by thanking all those Parents who attended the Parent Information Night on Sept. 20, in the Church. It was a great way to kick off another year of Holy Cross Prep. Please pay attention to the following information:

  • Registration for HC PREP 2022/2023 will officially close on September 27. (A few spots are still available in the Level 1 Class) 
  • Drop-off and Pick-up procedures will continue as last year. The Level 6 and 7 area will be located in the North Parking Lot. The Level 5, 4, and 3 area will be in the Gymnasium. The Level 2 and 1 area will be outside the side church entrance in the South Parking Lot. Please note that students should be dropped off by 6:55pm and parents should be here no later than 8:00pm for pick-up.

Welcome back to all of you and I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night. Kindly note that this year, our theme will continue to be "Proud To Be Part Of A Catholic Community". We will also incorporate the Archdiocesan theme of "Seeking Truth, Healing, and Reconciliation" in our program throughout the year. 

Please pay close attention to the following details:

  • Registration for HC PREP 2022/2023 will close on September 23. (A few spots are still available) Registration Forms and Payment can be dropped off at the Prep Office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 to 2 pm & Tuesdays from 1 to 4 pm. Otherwise, Registrations and Visa Payments can be made at the Parish Office Daily from 9:30 am to Noon and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
  • PREP Classes officially start for students on September 20, 2022. There will also be an important Parent Information Meeting in the Church at 7:05pm. At least one parent from every family is expected to attend.

  • The Teachers will be sending home a basic information sheet and I kindly ask that you complete it accurately and return it the following week. (this help will enhance Teacher & Parent communication)

**Registration for HC PREP 2022/2023 reopens September 6 and closes September 23. Registration Forms and Payment can be dropped off at the Prep Office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:00 to 2 pm & Tuesdays from 1 to 4 pm. Otherwise, Registrations and Visa Payments can be made at the Parish Office Daily from 9:30 am to Noon and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Please note that there are still a few spots remaining as many of the registration spots have already been filled.

**PREP will start for students on September 20, 2022. There will also be an important information meeting in the Church at 7:05pm on this date for parents. At least one parent from every family is encouraged to attend.

**Drop-off and Pick-up procedures will continue as last year. The Level 6 and 7 area will be located in the North Parking Lot. The Level 5, 4, and 3 area will be in the Gymnasium. **I would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated Holy Cross PREP Staff who have offered to volunteer their time once again this year.

I would like to thank you all for your sincere support throughout the past year of the Holy Cross Prep Program. I wish you all a safe and happy Summer! Please pay close attention to the following details:

**Early Bird Registration for HC Prep 2022/23 ends this Friday, June 3 (as mentioned in numerous prior emails) A very special thank you to the many Families, who have already registered. To those Families who have not registered thus far, kindly note that Registration for the 2022/23 Prep Year will stay open until June 30 and then reopen again on Sept. 6 for the remaining available spots in the Program.  Registration Forms and Payment can be dropped off at the Prep Office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 to 3 pm & Tuesdays from 1 to 4 pm. Otherwise, Registrations and Visa Payments can be made at the Parish Office Daily from 9:30 am to Noon and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

**Please note that any Student Progress Reports or Communion/Confirmation Packages that were not picked up on May 24, are now in the Parish Office. (Parish Office hours are 9 to 12 noon & 1 to 4 pm daily.)

**Finally, our deepest gratitude goes out to the HC Prep Teaching and Administration Staff for the wonderful work they did this year. We are definitely blessed to have so many dedicated volunteers on our Staff.
